We have developed a draft Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Implementation Plan that sets out how we will meet Melbourne’s waste needs over the next 10 years.
The draft plan proposes 10 priority actions to improve our recycling rates, reduce waste to landfill, and plan for Melbourne’s growth and future sustainability.
The public consultation period has now closed.
Throughout November and December 2015 we sought feedback on the priorities of our draft Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Implementation Plan.
As the public consultation period has now finished and we will collate and consider all comments and then prepare a final plan. The final plan will be submitted to the Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water for approval in March 2016.
Thank you for your submissions - we look forward to your continued engagement in Melbourne’s waste and recycling future. We will provide feedback on the public consultation here shortly.
